5. Financial Goal Tracker

Do you remember in kindergarten when you had sticker charts to mark progress? I loved those things. I’m all about affirmation and a physical representation of my progress. These days I’m less interested in “Getting through the day without crying” (though let’s be honest, that still deserves a sticker), and more interested in my financial goals. It’s so hard to save money or see debts getting paid off when everything is done automatically online. But if you keep a little tracker of your goals, you really start to understand where your money is going and how you can use it more wisely.

6. Mutual Notebook

Who didn’t love getting a note passed to them in school? There’s just something so fun about a handwritten note, especially in this age of texting and social media. So why not start a notebook with someone special? I have used this with some students I volunteer with who are shy in groups. We pass a notebook where they can ask questions and feel free to discuss things they might not want to say out loud. It’s been a huge success!
