You’ll Never Guess What He Turns This Skateboard Into!

This talented artist has developed a unique way to give old boards new life.

6. Make the Micarta

To make the micarta, or solid core of the knife handle, epoxy many layers of thin paper together. Wrap in a thick plastic sheeting and clamp between two pieces of wood to evenly distribute the pressure, making sure the epoxy doesn’t stick to the table or the clamps. Let set for 24 hours.

Once dry, unclamp, unwrap, and score the micarta to prepare for the next step.

7. Glue Micarta To Both Sides Of Handle

Start by glueing and clamping one side of the handle to the micarta. Roughly trim the edges once dry. Repeat for the other side of the handle.

Once everything has dried, trim and sand down to size.

8. Cut and Turn Knife Handle Inside Out

Mark the center line in the knife handle, and cut. Flatten both sides.

Place tape on the micarta side, trim down to size, and glue the taped sides together. Clamp down and wait to dry.

Once dry, sand down to size.
