These super simple windsocks are the perfect finishing touch for the front porch, or a back yard grill out! What’s even better, is that you probably have most of the supplies on hand – tin cans, spray paint, contact paper, and ribbon. Get the kiddos involved with decorating the cans, and make it an afternoon full of patriotic crafts.

Supplies:

– Empty tin cans

– Blue Spray paint

– Contact paper

– Red & White ribbon

– Twine

– Hammer & Nail (to poke holes in the can)

– Hot glue gun and glue

Directions:

Peel labels off the cans and scrub off any gunk.

Spray paint tin cans blue, and let dry.

Cut out stars from contact paper, have kids stick them on the can.

Cut red and white ribbon, attach to the can with hot glue gun, alternating colors.

Poke holes in the bottom of the can with your hammer and nail (screwdriver works too).

Thread twine through holes, hang up and enjoy!
