Mulan’s image appears in Chinese art spanning thousands of years

Given the prominence the Mulan fairy tale plays in Chinese culture, it is no surprise that images of Mulan can be seen through millenniums of Chinese Art History. Some of the earliest depictions are actually cave paintings! Moving up through the years, there are many beautiful silk screens of Mulan, as well as countless paintings, drawings and etchings. Several Mulan paintings are stored for posterity in the United States Library of Congress!
