9. Gratitude Journal

I have always wanted to keep a gratitude journal, yet I never seem to find the time. I have no more excuses! I don’t care if the gratitude journal thing has been overdone on social media because gratitude never goes out of style. If you’ve never heard of a gratitude journal, it’s very simple – you just pick a few things you’re thankful for each day and write them down. I think the goal is to not repeat yourself, and see how long you can keep it going! Some people make a goal for 3 things every day for a year, but you do what works best for you.

10. Morning/Evening Pages

Last but not least, we have classic journaling. I used to journal all the time – about what, who knows, but I found a bunch of old notebooks last time I was at my mom’s house and they are just filled with the rantings of an angsty 13-year-old. As an adult, the idea of journaling seems so vague and daunting. Enter: the morning pages. This idea is to set a goal to journal for 3 pages in the morning. I had to modify this a bit because mornings are my least favorite, least coherent part of the day, so I journal in the evening. The principle is the same, however. Create some intentional time to journal, with a concrete goal of 3 pages per day. Some people use this time to meditate, you could pair this time of journaling with your gratitude journal or your motivational quotes.
