6 Ways To Title Your Novel

If you’re stuck on a title, read this!

Titles usually happen in one of two ways. Either you wake up one morning with a plot, a list of characters, and the perfect title in mind, or you write an entire novel and then let it sit on the shelf for 6 months because you still don’t know what to call it.

If you’re in the first camp, well… I cannot relate. But for those of you in the second camp, I’m right there with you! But I have some good news. Jenna Moreci has some really great tips for how to title your novel. Keep reading to find out more!

The first tip Jenna gives us, is to think of keywords within your novel. Most novels have words of special significance, whether they are names of characters, powers, or even just recurring themes within the story itself. Find these keywords and see if a combination of the words helps you think of a title.

Sometimes keywords will be easy to find, like in the case of The Hunger Games. Other times, you’ll have to dig a little deeper. See what other tips Jenna has for us in the video below!
