New York-based artist Zaria Forman is unbelievably talented. The peak of my finger painting talent was in preschool, but Zaria has perfected the art form with chalk. Her landscapes are stunningly realistic, and the fact that she creates art to bring attention to climate change is the best part.

Forman recently had the opportunity of a lifetime, especially for her chosen profession! She was asked to join a team at NASA for a flight around the polar icecaps – thus, giving her the chance to see the inspiration for her paintings from a whole new perspective. Literally.

The artist loves getting to collect the scientific data and then translate it into something more accessible, like her large landscape paintings. Her passion really shines through, especially in this short film below!
