How To Make A Wreath Out Of Old Ornaments And A Wire Hanger
What a great project to do with the kiddos!
Most families pull down the same decorations they have been using for years when Christmas time draws closer. If you want to change things up a little this year, you can make a wreath with a simple DIY project. All you need are some dollar store ornaments and a wire hanger.
DaveHax demonstrates how you turn a hanger into something amazing within just a few minutes. You will use up some of that old Christmas decor that you have been hanging onto for years. Even if you don’t have any available, you can always pick some up for a few dollars at the dollar store.
The secret behind this DIY holiday wreath is using a regular wire hanger and untwisting it from the top. You would then slip the ornaments on the wire.
If things start to move around too much, you can always use clear tape to keep it steady.
You can use all of the same size ornaments if you want, after all, it’s your wreath. If you want to jazz things up a bit, however, change the size of the ornaments and choose festive Christmas colors, such as gold, green and red.
After sliding the ornaments on to the wire, use some shiny tinsel and wrap it around the wreath to add a little sparkle. Put a bow on top of it and your DIY project is ready to hang on the front door.
You can even use the hook of the old hanger to hang the wreath on the door. It is convenient but if you’d rather not use the metal hanger hook, just snap it off. You can always attach it to your door with a piece of ribbon.
Honestly, you don’t even have to hang the wreath if you don’t want to. You can always use it as a table centerpiece. Just put it right down on the dinner table and put a candle in the middle.
