Find New Life for Old Mason Jars
Use Mason Jars for More Than Just Food…Check Out These Great Ideas!
5. Wall Organizer
Attach one or more radiator hose clamps to a board. Loosen the clamp so that it is large enough to fit around the jar and then tighten it gently to hold the glass in place. Repeat with any other jars. Leave the jars open or close them with a lid. While this organizer is a great place to store small parts, you can also add water and cut flowers as a decoration.
6. Nightlight
Fill a Mason jar with a strand of holiday lights, letting the plug exit through a hole in the lid. Invert the jar on a counter top or dresser and plug in the lights. These twinkling lights make a comforting nightlight for a child’s room.
7. Bathroom Set
Collect three similar jars. Use one for a bathroom drinking glass. Modify the lid for the second by adding a pump for liquid soap through it. Cut openings in the lid of the third that are large enough for the handles of your toothbrushes and you have a great bathroom set.
8. Pincushions
Use a Mason jar to make a pincushion and emergency sewing kit, you can find instructions here. Keep this kit near your sewing machine or in your craft room so it is always handy when you are quilting or making repairs.
