12 Great Ideas for Handprint Keepsakes

Save That Little One’s Handprint or Footprint for Years to Come!

Handprint Turtles

This is classic from our school days, and makes a great gift. The palm of the hand forms the shell, while each finger is a leg. Add a cute face on the thumb print to finish it off.

Footprint Owl

With brown and yellow paint, you can turn your little one’s foot into a clever owl. Use yellow paint for the toes so they look like owl feet. If desired, draw a branch on the paper before making the print to create the look of an owl sitting in a tree.

Handprint Elephants

Kid-sized thumb prints form the trunk of an elephant. Add ears and a tail once the paint is dry.

Footprint Duck

A horizontal foot can form a duck swimming through water, while a vertical foot looks like a duck sitting on the shore. If ducks aren’t your child’s thing, you can also make a footprint penguin.
