This Vintage Block Is Made Easy With Pre-Cuts!

Our beloved Jenny from the Missouri Star Quilt Company is back again with another amazing tutorial.

Do you recognize this block? It’s actually an old block called the card trick. It’s lovely, isn’t it? I just love the fabric that was chosen for this block. It looks complicated though, doesn’t it? Between the overlapping colors in the middle, and then setting the block on point, surely this block is too complicated.

Think again! Our beloved Jenny from the Missouri Star Quilt Company is back again with another amazing tutorial. She shows us a trick… for this card trick block! For starters, Jenny uses a jelly roll. Everything is a little easier with pre-cuts, isn’t it?

Next, Jenny shows us how to start off this block – with a simple four patch. From there, just add your longer strips on either side, and then longer strips on top and bottom with 2 block of background fabric. It all comes together in rows and jenny makes it look so easy!

Next, comes setting the block on point, which simply means that the point of the block you have now, will be the bottom. Don’t worry, you know Jenny has an easy way to accomplish this as well! Go ahead and see how everything comes together in the video below, and don’t forget to share photos of your finished card trick blocks with us in the comments below!
