We’re always looking for fun, cute, and easy DIY projects, so when we came across these fun summer craft ideas, we couldn’t pass it up! These projects all involve balloons, so if you have a stash thrown in a forgotten junk drawer, it’s time to pull them out and get to crafting. You’re going to love the unique craft ideas below!

Floral Bowls

These bowls are absolutely stunning, wouldn’t you agree? What a great way to celebrate the spring and summer seasons! You can use them as candle holders (with LED lights), candy bowls, or even as a creative way to hold silverware at your next grill out.

Grab some fresh flowers and take off some petals, leaves, or even the whole flower depending on the look you’re going for and the type of flower. Press the petals in a book or some other flat, heavy object. Leave the petals for a few hours, or up to a few days to dry them out and flatten them.

Once your pressed flowers are ready, mix one cup water, one cup flour, and one teaspoon of salt in a large bowl. Set aside, and blow up a balloon to the size you want your bowl. Position the balloon so it’s standing up. We suggest placing the bottom of the balloon in a mason jar or cup to keep it upright.

Then, cut strips of paper and dip them in the flour mixture. Place the strips of paper over the balloon, covering all of it except a few inches from the bottom, to leave an opening.

Paint some of the remaining mixture over the outside of the strips and then press your dried flowers right onto the surface. Let the whole thing sit for a day or two, depending on how thick the layers of paper and flowers are. Once it’s dry, pop the balloon and trim up the edge for a beautiful floral bowl!

Confetti Bowls

These fun confetti bowls are so festive, and perfect for that summer birthday party, or any party, really. Use them to hold candy, silverware, napkins, whatever party supplies you need!

Start off by position the balloon in a mason jar or cup so it stands upright. Then, paint the outside with Mod Podge.

Next, add a layer of confetti, glitter, tissue paper, or whatever else you think would be fun and festive! Make sure to cover the whole balloon. Once the confetti is covering the balloon, paint on a thick layer of Mod Podge.

Set the balloon aside to dry for a few hours, or even a whole day, depending on how thick the layer of Mod Podge is. Once everything is dry, simply pop the balloon and carefully take it out of the bowl and trim up the edge.
