Apple Pie Simmer

Who doesn’t love the smell of apple pie, especially in the fall? While there’s nothing wrong with whipping up a delicious apple pie (or three), sometimes you just want the welcoming smell, and not the mess (or the calories). We’ve got the perfect solution! Put the following ingredients either in your crock pot or a large pot on the stove: apples, oranges, orange peels, cinnamon sticks, star anise, fresh ginger, cloves, and cardamom pods. Cover with water and let simmer! Remember to keep adding water so not to burn!
