Grog Cupboard

From the craftsman, Rene Tyhouse: “Made from recycled timber.”

Butcher Block Table

From the craftsman: “My daughter wanted a butcher block table for her new house. So I decided to build one out of as much recycled lumber and parts that I had laying around. The top is sugar maple from a storm damaged tree, the oak edging and bottom shelf supports is from an old park bench, other oak are leftover pieces from other projects, the drawer front is spalted/ambrosia maple from another storm damaged tree that I had for firewood, the towel rack is peddles from an old upright piano and the brass rod is from a wastewater treatment plant. I used old 1/2 inch copper water pipe for the bottom shelf that I polished. The only thing I bought was soft close drawer slides. The finish is hand applied Danish oil and hand applied water based satin urethane. I used butcher block oil on the maple top and clear lacquer on the drawer front.”

Occasional Table

From the craftsman, Gary Holton: “My latest creation in the workshop. An occasional table made from recycled Jarrah with a Sheoak natural edge top. Loved making it.”
