6 Of Our Favorite Candies of the 1960s; I Wish They Still Made Number 5!

The flavors and scents bring back so many memories: going to the corner store after school, the teacher’s prizes for doing well, and the pennies saved up to go to the candy store. These are some of our favorite candies from the 1960s.

4) Sixlets

These melty, candy-coated balls of chocolate and carob have a unique flavor and soft texture. The sleeve packaging makes them perfect for popping, and the bright colors appeal to almost everyone. We don’t know why M&Ms are more popular, since Sixlets have been our favorite for years!

3) Lemonheads

These sour candies are quintessential to growing up in the U.S. Almost as popular as Red Hots, these candies are supposedly named after Salvatore Ferrara’s grandchild (who was born with the help of forceps). Poor kid! These continue to be popular today.
