Start With A Half Square Triangle And Build This Easy, Versatile Block!

The block itself is so simple, but the end result really is amazing!

Isn’t this Summer Camp Quilt just so much fun? I love the bright and bold colors used here, and of course, I love how easy this quilt is to throw together! You can easily make this quilt just in time to send with a child going away to camp! Quilts are a lovely, thoughtful reminder that you’re never too far from home.

All you need for this block is a light background fabric, a dark background fabric, and a roll of two and a half inch pre-cuts. Keep it simple with solids, or go wild with prints – it’s up to you!

You’ll start by using Jenny’s favorite method for making half square triangles. Once you have your light and dark half square triangles, it’s just a matter of building around that four-inch half square triangle by sewing the pre-cut strips on the sides. The block itself is so simple, but the end result really is amazing!

Go ahead and see how it’s done in this mini tutorial below. Don’t forget to share photos of your completed Summer Camp quilt with us in the comments below! As always, happy quilting, friends!
