Have you seen this amazing technique for joining yarn colors? I can’t believe I’ve never even heard of the Russian Join until now! If you’ve been crocheting for any amount of time, you’re probably all too familiar with the overwhelming feeling of having to weave in all of your yarn ends at the end of a project. I just finished up an afghan with color changes every three rows. It took me just as long to weave in all the ends as it did to crochet the whole thing! Ok, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it sure felt that way!
In today’s video, we learn a new technique for joing yarn that eliminates the need for those pesky ends. Simply hook the working yarn and the new yarn togethr, and then weave the yarn ends back into the yarn itself using a tapestry needle.
