Never Twist The Foundation Chain Again With This One Trick!

I can’t believe I’ve never thought of this before!

We’ve all been there: the pattern calls for a chain of 172 and by the time you reach the end you’ve twisted the chain so many times you don’t even know where to begin to fix it! Twisting the foundation chain is frustrating and problematic on several levels. Not only does this make it difficult to work your first row of stitches, but ultimately it makes the edges uneven. There’s nothing more disappointing than finally finishing a huge crochet project only to find your bottom edge is puckered and twisted! But never fear – we have a super simple solution for you!

Take a few minutes to watch this really short video on how to ensure your chain never twists again! Mikey from The Crochet Crowd lets us know just how easy it is. Start chaining, and after about 10 or so chains, simply take your hook out of the loop, insert it into the first chain, and then back into the working chain and continue on your way. This way, the first chain is anchored to your hook and it will remain secure until you’re done with your foundation chain. It’s as easy as that! Watch and see how Mikey does it in the video below!
