It’s incredible to think about living in a house built by some of the first pilgrims to land in America. Granted, the “before” of this house was a complete disaster, but the homeowner, Doug Towle, was determined to restore this house to its former glory. I can’t even begin to imagine the time and money that went into this project, but it sure is incredible to see the finished product. Go ahead and take a look at some of the amazing features!

First of all, let’s pause and appreciate this incredible view. That alone is a huge selling point. Can’t you just picture early settlers out in the field and coming back after a hard day’s work to scrounge up dinner and sit by the fire?

As amazing as the outside of the house is with its views, the inside is truly breathtaking. Most of the wood is original to the house and has never been painted. The furniture in each room is authentic to the time period, including wooden chests with intricate carvings, quilts, a stone fireplace, and much more.

Yes, the appliances and lighting in the house are obviously modern, but Doug took the time to match the style and general look and feel of each piece so it blends in with the rest of the authentic decor.
