8 Natural Headache Remedies You Need to Know

Stop popping the pills and try something that works naturally first!

6. Drink Water

The first thing I do at the start of a headache, is reach for my water bottle. It is so easy to drink up on coffee, alcohol or sugar beverages and next think we know, we’ve only had a class or two of water that day. It’s no wonder the headache has crept in. Therefore, when my head starts to hurt, I reach for my water and make sure that I’m fully hydrated while I move into some of the other previously mentioned natural approaches.

7. Magnesium

Studies have found that many who suffer from migraines have low levels of magnesium. One thing I do each night before bed, is take mix up a powdered magnesium supplement with warm water and sip it like I’m sipping on tea. You can also get more magnesium through your diet from foods with beans, seeds, nuts, and squash.

8. Learn your triggers

Common migraine triggers can include hormone changes, foods and drinks like aged cheeses and wine, MSG and other food additives, medications and changes in sleep. Knowing your triggers can help you make future decisions and reduce the number of headaches you experience.
