Soothe Your Sunburn Pain Naturally With Ingredients You Likely Have on Hand

When summer sunburn strikes, you don’t have to resort to chemical-laden remedies to ease your pain. Instead, try one of these natural remedies that use ingredients you probably have on hand.

Potato Slices

Slice up a raw potato, and place the slices on your burned skin. You can also grate the potato or pop it in a food processor to create a soothing paste.

Baking Soda

Make a paste of baking soda and water and applying it to your raw skin. If you’re burned all over, run a cool bath, and pour a cup of baking soda into the water to soak yourself to comfort.

Cold Water

A cold-water compress can be a soothing and healing thing for a sunburn, and it’s probably the easiest treatment there is. Simply wet a washcloth with cold water and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes.

Cold Milk

Create a compress using a washcloth just as you did with cool water, but try it instead with cold milk. The protein in the milk helps with healing.
