If you’ve been quilting for any amount of time, you probably know how to quilt the wishbone stitch. However, as Angela points out in today’s quilting video, just because you know howto do a stitch, doesn’t mean you know what to do with it. We’ve all had that sensation of quilting amnesia when we finish a quilt top and then suddenly forget every stitch we’ve ever learned!

Hopefully, after today’s video, you’ll be able to rely on the wishbone stitch to do a lot of the heavy lifting for you when it comes to quilting! This stitch is so easy to do, and as you’ll see, it’s so versatile too!

One great way to use this stitch is to fill in odd-shaped blocks. Whether it’s a Dresden plate quilt or some sort of creation you came up on your own, sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how to fill in odd spaces. The wishbone stitch is such a great way to fill in the gaps!

Another way to use the wishbone stitch is to point to an intricate design. When stitched close together, the wishbone stitch gives the effect of directing the eye to another pattern, especially if that pattern is contrasting, like swirls or feathers. See the other ways to use this amazing stitch in the video below!
