Statement Art

Have you ever tried to make art to hang in your house only to be completely distraught over the outcome? Yeah, us too. This project is totally foolproof and you’re guaranteed to walk away with some pieces you truly love and are proud of! First, print off a design – try a word in a fancy script or a mandala design. Make sure the lines are easy to follow. Cover the design with a sheet of parchment paper and then trace the lines with hot glue. Once the design has dried, peel it off the paper and place it on some watercolor paper or a canvas. Either spray a mix of acrylic paint and water, or flick paint onto the paper to create a splatter effect. Finally, take off the hot glue design to reveal an awesome print!

Clay Bowls

These lace clay bowls look so intricate and complicated, but in reality, they could not be easier. Grab some polymer clay and roll it out to 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Cut out a circle and press a lace stamp or even a paper doily with a lace pattern. Cut a wavy line around the outside of the circle if you wish to have a decorated edge. Then, place the clay, lace print side up, in a glass bowl. This will cause the clay to form a bowl shape. Bake the clay in the glass bowl according to the package directions – usually about 15 minutes.
