Speed Knitting 101

Hint: It’s all about how you hold the yarn!

I am a classic English knitter or a “thrower” as some people call it (for good reason). I hold the yarn in my right hand and then throw it over the needle. This feels right to me since this is how I learned how to knit, but this new way of speed knitting makes so much more sense! It’s all about how you hold your yarn. In this case, as you’ll see in the video below, you should hold the yarn in your left hand between your first and second fingers.

Watch the fascinating technique in the video below! Don’t worry – he starts out very slow so you can follow along. This new technique may take some getting used to, but once you practice a few rows, you’ll get the hang of it in no time! Think of all the projects you can complete before Christmas with this new speed knitting method!
