Supercell storms are incredible, but dangerous things to see. They typically bring some serious weather along with them like strong lightning, heavy rain, and even tornadoes.

For this particular storm making its way across the Nebraska plains, it produced a number of small tornadoes but none that caused any significant damage. However, supercells like this still produce massive amounts of dangerous situations for people who find themselves stuck in the path it is traveling.

In order for a storm of this size to form, it needs a constantly rotating updraft to occur, which gives it the potential to become extremely severe. Supercells are very rare, but when they do occur it is usually in the great plains areas of the United States and the tornado-heavy zones of Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.

For the driver in the video below, it was definitely an awesome view to get, but storm chasing isn’t for the faint-of-heart.
