I Bet You’ve Never Seen The Granny Square Quite Like THIS Before!

I love the modern twist this tutorial gives the old crochet classic!

If you’ve been crocheting for any amount of time, you’re probably quite familiar with the granny square. We love the granny square in all its forms, whether it’s as a blanket, a cardigan, or even a hat! But we’ve never seen anything quite like this Mitered Granny Square blanket before, have you?

I love the modern twist this tutorial gives the old crochet classic! You start out with a regular granny square, but then you just work on expanding two sides of the square for the rest of the blanket.

The basic pattern is worked in two alternating rows: a row of connecting chains, followed by a more traditional “granny square” row of double crochet clusters of three. The end result is just stunning! This mitered granny pattern pops all the more by using Caron Cakes – or any self color changing yarn.
