How To Pair Wine With Anything

I cannot wait to try these creative combinations when I get home!

White Wines

Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a dry white wine with notes of apples, pears, citrus fruits, and rich butter. While this wine goes with just about any dish, it is typically paired with seafood and chicken. Chardonnay pairs well with Colby jack cheese, clam chowder, veggie pizza, trout, lobster bisque, and glazed donuts.

Sauvignon Blanc

This light and dry wine has notes of citrus and grass with a hint of melon and mango. Pair with monterey jack cheese, scallops, broccoli cheddar soup, citrus salads with light vinigarette, and pasta with rich butter sauce.

Pinot Grigio

This dry wine has a bite with notes of pear and melon. It pairs well with mild cheese, fish and chips, shrimp salad, sushi, and margherita pizza.

Moscato

Moscato is a light wine, with notes of orange and peach blossoms. While this wine shines best on its own, it can be paired with muenster or pepper jack cheese. As with most sweet wines, it will also pair well with desserts such as a strawberry donut. Some suggest trying this sweeter wine with a contrasting spicy meal such as Thai or Indian.

Riesling

Riesling wines are very light, with hints of apples and peaches. Try with spicy and powerful cheeses, hawiian pizza, crab, butternut squash soup, and powdered donuts.
