They key to making the colors really pop, is to use liquid watercolors instead of food coloring.

This soap is amazing! They key to making the colors really pop, is to use liquid watercolors instead of food coloring. I bet these would be really fun to make in different molds as well, and create a whole galaxy of stars and planets! The best part about this galaxy soap craft, is that it really, truly, is as easy as it looks. Just cut and melt the soap base, add your colors, glitter, and scent, pour into a mold and wait for it to dry! I will definitely be using the soap base again, it made the whole process so simple! I only used half of the tub per one tray of mold, so you’ll have plenty left over for another soap crafting adventure. Check out the easy to follow video below, and get the full instructions at the bottom of the article. Happy crafting!

Supplies:

– Soap base

– Knife

– Soap mold

– Microwave

– Glitter

– Liquid watercolor

– Essential oils in desired scents

Directions:

Cut soap base into smaller slices, place in a bowl, and microwave for 30 seconds.

Add a few drops of liquid watercolor until desired color is reached. Add 1-2 drops of essential oil, and a sprinkle of glitter.

Pour just a little of the colored soap into each of the soap molds. Try to only partially cover a corner, or section of the mold. It may help to tilt the mold and have the soap base dry at a slight angle.

Repeat steps 1-3 with different colors – blue, purple, pink, etc., letting each layer dry before pouring on a new layer.

Once dry, pop the soap out of the mold and enjoy!
