5. Vanilla Extract

Add a few drops of vanilla extract to paint to remove paint smell. Such a small amount doesn’t affect the quality of the paint while still dampening the odor.

6. Easy-Clean Trays

Wrap tin foil, plastic wrap or plastic bags around the basin of your paint tray for faster cleanup. This preserves the shape of your tray without covering it in paint.

7. Petroleum Jelly Coverage

If you have a small spot you don’t want to paint, cover it with petroleum jelly instead of tape. This makes your paint job more accurate.

8. Stir Stick Painting

Hot glue a stir stick to the back of a small paint pad so you can cover hard-to-reach places such as behind toilets and up in corners of the ceiling. This is very lightweight and easy to make.
